My Mother passed before she could see my success and true passion. She would see me in my suit and tie and ask, “What are you doing? You should be working with your hands”. The centerpiece symboling my Mothers heart radiating light and surrounded by her four children keeping them connected.
Medium and Materials:
Hand forged Repoussé, method of decorating the sterling silver in which parts of the design are raised in relief from the back or the inside of the article by means of hammers and punches; definition and detail is then be added from the front by chasing and stamping designs. Same method of repousse is used in creating each silver bead then mating to together with a seamless solder joint. Individual designs are then attached in a float overlay technique to give this piece dimension and a sculptural feel. The necklace is strung on foxtail, which is a woven metal chain for timeless durability.
